IVF treatment is just one of the treatments for fertility problems. It may be appropriate if:

the woman has blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, or cervical mucus problems

infertility is largely due to male factors

infertility is unexplained.

In addition, older women and those whose eggs will not fertilise or who have had ovarian disease or surgery can be offered IVF using donated eggs.
